This scene from The Hunchback of Notre Dame sees the main antagonist Judge Claude Frollo singing the Disney staple of the villain song, in which the villain sings a song about something they lust, but that's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about the very intricate animation they used in this scene particularly. Without him singing, you can see the villain is very defined in his facial features, and this is constant throughout the whole scene. But what is key to this whole scene is the atmosphere around the character and the animators attention to detail. A prime example of this is when they were having a gust of wind surround the character and making his stringy hair move around and about with the wind to keep the moment realistic. To create this affect, apparently the animators just drew out the whole thing, with all the intense movements, and made it so they could add detail and animate around it. Talk about commitment.
